OzED is a support group here for families & friends who have or know someone with Ectodermal Dysplasia (ED). The organisation is dedicated to improving the health and well-being of people whose lives are affected by Ectodermal Dysplasia (ED). Each year, OzED hosts a camphrence (camp/conference) for all families. This event is hosted and staffed by Purple Soup.

Purple Soup was founded by Tim Marchinton and the organisation offers cutting-edge adventure therapy programs that are designed to focus on the psychosocial and emotional aspects of conditions such as ED.

While health professionals are often able to help with the medical aspects of these illnesses, it is the emotional aspects that can have a lasting impact on patients and their families as many young people with chronic illnesses feel socially isolated, uncertain about their future and fearful of not being able to achieve their life goals.

Purple Soup’s programs use the therapeutic aspects of adventure to empower and enhance the quality of life of these young people. While still a relatively new therapeutic field in Australia, significant research conducted overseas has shown that adventure therapy - coupled with conventional medicine - enhances quality of life and increases the chance of successful long-term treatment.

Purple Soup receives no government or philanthropic funding. Instead, Tim undertakes team-building activities for corporations all over Australia, channelling the profits from these directly into the adventure therapy programs.
