Youth Art Fest

We will offer a free outdoor event for youth and families in the North Lawndale & Little Village communities to come together to enjoy fun. art, and each other on August 28. We will gather in the Peace Park that volunteers have created from a vacant lot at 2101 S. Spaulding for a variety of activities. There will be a watercolors table for young children, a teen art contest for cash prizes painting portraits of black heroes, making drums from recycled materials, a mini-stage for open mic and performances, a sing-a-long, refreshments, and more.
** This project has been funded through funds honoring the memory of Mark Rogovin, a celebrated and beloved muralist in Chicago. These funds are specifically marked to support projects that benefit public art in the Chicago area.
