Glasgow Tandem Club
We aim to provide cycling opportunities for vision impaired cyclists through developing a Tandem club for both vision impaired and sighted cyclists to enjoy. We currently have around 35 members and aim to increase that in the months ahead through further training. Currently we have regular rides twice a month and we would like to expand that. We have access to tandems stored in a local park but limited funds for everyday running costs such as repairs to the bikes, and van hire to help us start our rides further afield.
The benefits to all of our members a re obvious in terms of health and social inclusion, allowing vision impaired cyclists to take part in an activity they couldn't otherwise, and in fostering friendships that help to break down barriers to inclusion.
