DC Culinary Circle
Cooking classes serve at-risk qualified children within the District of Columbia educating them on eating healthy flavorful food using minimal time and financial resources. Nutrition doesn’t have to be loaded with calories to taste good. Also, addressing limitations faced with food insecurity impacting youths access to food resources and ability to prepare meals. Teaching about nutrition, impacts of poor dietary habits, grocery shopping, cooking preparation, plating presentation and table manners.
My future goal is the operation of a program including food, transportation to field trip locations, basic kitchen equipment for youth provided to them at the end of the program and possible opportunities for high school culinary program and/or culinary school scholarships.
