We, all across the Board, have seen a drastic increase in food insecurity. We are no strangers to this at Dr. Denison SS. Last year, we were able to secure funding from President's Choice Children's Charity that we will now not be getting. Those funds allowed us to provide healthy breakfast and lunch choices to our student population. At the present time, we do receive some funding from the Ministry and we also have partnered with Food Banks of York Region but this is not sufficient to offer the quality of programming we wish to offer.

We are wanting to build intentional community by caring for each other in various ways. We would have our hospitality students cook meals once a week for students who may need meals due to financial challenges in their homes.
