Healing with Nature Mosaic Project
The Healing with Nature Mosaic Project will offer communities a vehicle for facing grief and transforming suffering together. The first iteration will be offered to the Squirrel Hill Community in the healing environment of the Frick Environmental Center.
Through this project, community members of all ages will be shepherded by professional therapeutic staff through the vicissitudes of grief with healing elements of therapeutic storytelling, ritual and ceremony, and through the creation of a collective mosaic mural with the artistic direction of accomplished mosaic artist Laura Jean McLaughlin. The project will gather shattered pieces together to tell a story of community healing and resilience.
The community mosaic will be installed at the Frick Environmental Center as a testament to the healing power of community and as a refuge for all who grieve and long for sanctuary.
