OUTCHEA: Expanded Access in the Florida Wilding

OUTCHEA has been designed as a radical invitation to (re)introduce Gainesville’s Black community to Florida’s unique natural spaces. OUTCHEA strives to spark intergenerational social cohesion and youth empowerment through experiential/experimental pairings, like ROUGHAGE + RATCHET, where folks are invited to an urban farm to harvest fresh produce followed by a TUBI watch party and a game of GOOD|BAD BLACK MOVIE BINGO, along with a customized popcorn bar inspired by African American foodways. Each site is designed as an ongoing series with a theme (mental health, nutrition, water safety, etc.) and related communal activity.
