We are seeking support for this year’s Highball show for World Pride 2025: “Tracey Turnblatt and the Multiverse of Musicals,” which is an original, full-scale rehearsed, choreographed, and costumed production that blends the narrative of the Wizard of Oz with musical drag performances from our previous Highball musical theater drag shows.

This show will appeal to Broadway fans, Wizard of Oz fans, Wicked fans and anyone who has seen our shows previously. We are planning for four show dates total in late May 2025 for World Pride, offering several opportunities to enjoy this innovative show. Our show is absolutely unique to Highball Productions, to Washington DC and unlike anything else offered during World Pride (or any other time)!

Our casting decisions blur gender lines and prioritize BIPOC, disabled drag performers and drag performers of size in shows that are historically overwhelmingly white and thin. Representation is powerful and seeing someone who looks like you on stage, in a lead role, encourages marginalized queer imaginations to grow, flourish and expand. We offer the opportunity for queer, disabled, BIPOC performers and drag performers of size to embody a beloved role that may have seemed off-limits or impossible to play in other settings. Highball Productions shows are a place where marginalized drag performers get the chance to retell mainstream stories on our terms, in our visual and campy shared language, at a level of commitment and quality that honors our energies and talents. Our shows offer ASL-interpreted dates to make our content accessible to our deaf and hard of hearing community members.
