Nightfire @ Cascades
Nightfire is a new concept for family friendly entertainment in Tallahassee. Nightfire will combine local artists and performers in a unique setting that is unlike anything seen in Tallahassee before. Nightfire will introduce the Tallahassee community to the many fire dancers and performers who call our city home through a unique ritualistic performance that will include African and Caribbean dance and drums.
The concept is aimed at bringing Tallahassee residents and families to the new FAMU Way area commonly known as "under the over". This area consists of the new plaza under the overpass at FAMU Way and South Adams Street. The area can be accessed by the FAMU Way trail from the west or the new Cascades Pedestrian bridge from the East. In the backdrop for the perfomance will be the brand new Lake Anita, named for former City Manager Anita Favors-Thompson. Lake Anita is the perfect setting with its natural amphitheater and light displays.
"Night Fire is going to something completely new and unique for our community. Its the perfect melding of our cultural assets and talented performers with the infrastructure investments we are making in the Downtown area. Families, friends, and neighbors can all utilize the amazing new additions of FAMU Way, Cascades Park, and the new connector bridge as a way to plan a great evening on the town. Patrons will be treated to a sensory experience unlike anything they have seen in Tallahassee before. I can't wait for Summer to get here so we can roll this out. Night Fire will be something you won't forget!"-Jay Revell, NightFire founder
Nightfire is currently in development for a summer 2016 inaugural performance. The Nightfire team is working with the city staff to secure a date that will be announced soon.
