The Happiness Scorecard
We're on a mission to grow global wellbeing, one mind at a time - starting with making Newcastle known as the Happiest City in Australia. One of the projects that we have developed to help us move towards this vision is the Happiness Scorecard - a short, evidence-based test that gives people a deeper understanding of their own happiness levels.
We believe that part of the reason behind why so many people struggle with their mental and emotional wellbeing is because it is difficult to keep track of. Often people find that their first notable sign of emotional distress or mental health challenges comes long after their happiness and wellbeing began to slide in the first place.
This leads to a very reactive approach to promoting wellbeing and emotional health.
We believe that by empowering people with tools such as the Happiness Scorecard they will be able to keep a closer eye on their wellbeing, and will be more likely to manage their happiness proactively rather than reactively.
We have developed a Happiness Scorecard prototype based on research from the field of Positive Psychology and have taken it through an incubator with the University of Newcastle to help us bring it to the public. We are now aiming to give the Happiness Scorecard to as many people as we can to get enough data to validate the project before scaling it.
