We are a Chicago based mutual aid group that pops up to give out free food in South and West Chicago. We exist to assist Black and Brown led orgs that focus on feeding our neighbors. Our group met by chance giving out free groceries at a business in Chatham called Trap House Chicago (a restorative justice streetwear brand). We all responded to an instagram ad and met here with no idea what we were getting into. We got really close in our service, we started hanging out outside of service related activity and developed radical relationships with each other. We sat in peace circles and learned to create abundance in ourselves- we became a community. Our group continues a deep connection with our partners at Trap House Chicago and we continue raising money through bake sales, events, and word of mouth.
