Making Mexican history in Michigan
“Making Mexican History in Michigan” is a project highlighting the Mexican history of Michigan while also engaging Mexican communities today to continue making their own history. Thus, our goal is to make educational and creative works that highlight the history and ongoing presence of Mexican communities. The project is structured as a community program in which the Program Director (Santos Ramos) will work with Project Leaders and other community stakeholders to learn more about these histories and to develop creative outcomes that engage the public with our findings. This will include a public mural as well as a digital space that tells stories from these communities through video, photography, writing, and visual art.
