On Saturday, April 30, 2022 we will be celebrating the Annual Newburgh Urban Farming Fair. For the first time the Fair will be at the Downing Park Urban Farm at 207 Carpenter Avenue. The Farm provides an appropriate setting for urban ecology in the City of Newburgh and we are very happy to have people come to the Farm and see firsthand the multiple benefits of urban agriculture and gardening.

The Fair will be a celebration of urban farming/gardening with fresh food, local vendors, crafts and family fun. The Urban Soils Institute will be providing free soil tests for residents who bring samples from their home gardens. Master Gardeners will be available to answer gardening questions and free seeds and seedlings will be available for anyone wanting to start a garden.

We are also welcoming Arm-of-the-Sea Puppet Theater to be part of the celebration. They will be performing their newest production, DIRT: THE SECRET LIFE OF SOIL. Always a crowd pleaser, we expect Arm-of-the-Sea to draw a large number of people as they have when they performed at the Urban Farming Fair in the past.

The Fair and performance are open to the community and free of charge.
