Your New Parents is a musical collaboration between vocalist Heather Brown Dodge (Gary Jules, Esquimaux), guitarist Graham Dodge (Esquimaux), guitarist/bassist Mark Jickling (Half-Japanese, Old Songs) and drummer Jake Fine (Luvable Idiots, Fine Tuned Presents). The group is recording a 5 song EP called Westminster which is being recorded in Westminster. Why Westminster? Well, Heather, Graham and Jake are all residents, and Westminster is where Graham and Heather met Mark and Jake and represents the overarching theme of the project with lyrics inspired by various aspects of the community.

4 of the songs are original and include themes about legacy, relationships, mental illness and death. 1 song is a cover by Vic Chesnutt called 'New Town' about a rural town reinventing itself.

I've spoken with Evan Davis Media in Westminster about producing a music video and Evan agreed, but perhaps that would be something GLBAL Media could collaborate with? I've also spoken with Billy Lyve about working with his son Skylar (aka Kruddy Lyve) on the mastering and I'd love to hear what his influence on the mixes could sound like, or perhaps there would be a interesting remix opportunity? If not Sky, then Mark knows Don Zientara of Inner Ear Studio (Fugazi, Bad Brains, Foo Fighters, etc), who may be open to mastering the tracks too. No guarantees though.
