Hand 2 Hand Inc. (H2H) project implements special event every year called "Tree of Life" This event is a memorial tree dedication and celebration of life for families that have lost a loved one due to drug overdose or gun violence. We obtain a tree for every family (up to 15 families each year. to provide healing and wellness for the loved ones left behind. We offer tree planting ceremonies and supportive events with resources from our community partnerships. Each family is supported by an OSU Extensions Master Gardener that will help with the tree plantings. All families attending the celebration of life event will receive flowers and a keepsake necklace. They will place a leaf from their tree inside as a way to carry their beloved one memory with them everyday. Our goal is to create awareness and give these families a opportunity to build relationship with other families that are dealing with the grief of losing a loved one on our cities streets due to drug overdose and gun violence.
