Re-Introduction of Pacific Tree Frogs to FFACC
I would like to introduce our project "Re-Introduction of Pacific Tree Frogs at the Florence Fang Asian Community Garden in Bayview Hunters Point/San Francisco". Our aim to is restore amphibian habitats that are too quickly lost to rapid urbanization, global climate disruption and contamination of the environment. This vision includes restoring an area for an amphibian habitat- several areas within the 1 acre garden: a pond and several bioswales, which will be thoughtfully landscaped to offer hiding areas for the frogs and a respite for the visitors and volunteers to the community garden. The Florence Fang Asian Community Garden was established in 2014, and has become one of the city's largest urban farms- which, in conjunction with the SF/Marin Food Bank, serves over 180 families every Saturday. This community garden is welcoming to all San Franciscans and aims to bring together a network of community groups around policy issues of environmental conservation and sustainability, cultural diversity, healthy living activities and wholesome eating practices.
