Strong, Smart, and Bold Summer Camp Program
Girls Incorporated of York Region strives to inspire all girls to be Strong Smart and Bold. We provide Socio-emotional programming to support girls to stay in school, learn STEM, and develop communication and leadership skills and support for their mental health. Girls also get fit and learn about nature by taking part in outings like hiking, swimming, horseback riding, wall climbing, and treetop hiking. Other day trips include going to sporting events, the Art Gallery of Ontario, the Royal Ontario Museum, and Ontario Science Centre.
Girls and youth will be active and build athletic skills, learn new skills, and make fun memories that last a life-time, by taking part in outdoor and
physical activities, arts and crafts, mindfulness training, nature-based programs and more. The summer camp was developed with the same goals as our programs; we actively strive to enhance confidence and self-esteem, while giving campers the skills and tools they need in order to reach their full capacities. Each year, our camps provide girls and youth a chance to participate in fun, safe, and supervised activities, in which they may not have had the opportunity to experience.
Our Staff are trained individuals, passionate in helping girls reach their full potential. We have specific training in the Community Service Field, along with High Five certification and First Aid/CPR Level C. Girls Inc. of York Region's summer camp programming focuses on the development of the whole girl and includes activities that are specific to girls’ needs. We ensure the programs are fun and diverse and include different forms of facilitation to keep the girls interested and engaged.
The camp operates in weekly sessions, for girls and teens ages 6 to 13, from July 19 to August 22, from Monday to Friday, from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm at Regent Acres Public School.
