The Girlz C.O.D.E (Colors of Disability Equality)

Girlz C.O.D.E (Colors Of Disability Equality), a groundbreaking career and leadership mentoring initiative of Women Embracing Abilities Now Charlotte aka (W.E.A.N-Charlotte) designed specifically for girls and young women of color with disabilities. The program aims to support their transition from high school to college, and from college into successful careers, by connecting them with accomplished women mentors who share similar experiences and challenges. This will contribute to our mission to end the cycle of poverty and isolation of women with disabilities. Key Components:

Mentorship:
Each participant will be paired with a mentor, a successful woman with a disability, to guide them on their career and leadership journey.

Quarterly Events & Workshops:
Participants will engage in quarterly activities that focus on:
- Leadership development
- Career readiness and professional skills training
- Advocacy and support
- Self-care tools and strategies

Career & Leadership Training:
The program provides hands-on workshops to develop skills that are essential for navigating academic, career, and personal challenges.

Youth-Led Podcast:
Girlz C.O.D.E will feature a podcast created by youth, for youth. It will share stories, tips, and tools to inspire and inform other young people with disabilities, expanding the reach and impact of the program.
