Rawlinson Middle School in Northside is one of the Newcomer campuses. We serve a huge population of refugee students from Afghanistan, Congo, Rwanda, Syria, Guatemala, Venezuela, and many other countries. For those students, they have never been to a movie theater. ESL teachers would love to provide a meaningful and fun cultural experience to those students during the cherish Christmas season. To many of our students, this holiday season is not always joyful and cheerful. Some families had to leave behind their fathers, some of the children, or the siblings. This could be a good time that we can show love and caring mind for those who need attention. "The First Time in Forever" movie theater project will be remembered for the rest of their lives.
