The Newburgh Creates Foundation is excited to announce the launch of our FIRST LEGO League (FLL) team for the 2024-2025 school year, open to Newburgh youth ages 9-14. This public program will engage students in STEM, creative problem-solving, and teamwork, as they build and program LEGO robots to complete missions for competition in the FLL "First Dive" ocean-themed season. Along with designing and coding their robots, participants will also tackle a research-based team project and presentation, following the FLL guidelines.

A significant focus of this grant proposal is to secure scholarship funding, ensuring students from Newburgh who face financial barriers can participate without cost concerns. Scholarships would cover essentials like registration fees, materials, and travel expenses for regional competitions. With the help of Awesome Newburgh, we aim to create an accessible program that welcomes students from all backgrounds to explore their potential in STEM fields.
