Joy Riders Pittsburgh
Joy Riders is coming to Pittsburgh! The group formed about a year ago in Smithton, Pa, giving free bike rides along the Great Allegheny Passage to those with limited physical mobility. Bike rides are given on a Duet Bike where the front part is a wheelchair and the back part is an electric bike. After training as volunteers, Dianne Stuckman and Margarita Halasowski knew they had to establish a location in Pittsburgh. They will offer scenic rides free of charge to individuals of all ages who have physical limitations. The rides will run from Millvale to the North Shore, providing views of the city’s rivers, stadiums and skyline. The Awesome Pittsburgh grant will help with the purchase of the bike.
