Enriching Cultural Roots
Back in late 2000, I started the "Eterna Primavera Guatemalan Folklore Group."
I noticed that kids with Latin-American roots from countries such as Guatemala and Mexico, in a very short time forget about their rich heritage and get into bad habits.
There was a need for these kids to gain self confidence and be proud of their background. To preserve the tradition, I organized classes for free and began to teach young girls and boys about Guatemalan folklore.
My hope is through dance the children will develop emotionally, socially and have the focus and discipline to complete any task in front of them.
Eterna primavera has performed in many different activities in and around Oklahoma city and the life skills learned will transfer over to school, work and other aspects of their lives.
