Bus Stops into Monuments of National Pride
It is my strong belief that public spaces need to evoke national pride. Bus stops around the city are probably some of the most used facilities, yet some of the most neglected ones, especially in neighbourhoods outside of the city centre.
Therefore, I want to focus my project on promoting patriotism through painting images of famous Bulgarians on some of the most unkempt bus stops. Ideally, each painting will be placed on a boulevard or street that already has the name of a national hero, poet, ruler, etc. Apart from a portrait of each personality, there will also be a signature quote from them.
This is surely an awesome way to bring some life into uncared-for public spaces, while "teaching" national history and pride.
