Non-profit Status for Tallahassee Autism Community
Tallahassee Autism Community began is 2014 as an online support group for families that were struggling to find to find Autism Spectrum Disorder related services, resources, and support in the Big Bend Area. That online forum now serves over 200 families and sponsors programs such as
TallyAutism.com- An online searchable database of all the available ASD related resources, services, and events in Tallahassee. Providers can be searched by location and insurance accepted. TallyAutism.com is a free website with no charge for provider listings to ensure that the community has access to all available services.
The Annual "All About Autism" Resource Fair- 2018 was the inaugural year for the resource fair. Over 20 ASD related exhibitors gathered together to provide an amazing Autism Awareness event. The resource fair was completely free to the public and included popcorn, face painting, and a sensory friendly petting zoo experience. Each exhibitor also offered a children's activity.
Monthly meet-ups and quarterly parent's nights at local venues.
Spectrum Scouts-an activity based social skills group. This program is similar to Boys scouts, in that it teaches social and real life skills to children ages 5-18 who are on the Autism Spectrum.
