Birds of Prey
Birds of prey are dying from secondary poisoning caused by eating rodents that have eaten rat bait.
The Mornington Peninsula is home to Powerful Owls (the largest owl in Australia, and endangered), Wedge-tailed Eagles, Barn Owls (endangered) and many other species of raptors that rely on rodents for food. These animals are crucial to the ecosystem, as they are apex predators.
We want to start a t-shirt campaign to help raise awareness of this issue (similar to the one attached), and educate the community on safer ways to handle rodent control. Once up and running, we can run educational talks through schools and other groups, and create brochures and flyers to hand out.
