I'm a Kindergarten and First grade Special Education teacher. Many of the students that we teach come from environments that don't promote the importance of education and situations that traumatize them. As a result of this our students often exhibit harmful behavior to themselves or others and/or have emotional outbursts that impede their learning.

I want to create an area where they can practice their coping strategies, read fun books that remind them to be kind, safe, and happy, and independently calm themselves down to be ready to get back to learning.

A social emotional learning library that is equipped with furniture, books, and games that help them maintain a positive attitude in those hard moments is what I hope to offer my students with this project.
