I want to provide music hour for seniors in living facilities.
As a DJ in the military, at the NCO club in Germany, in the 70s, I served as a Disco DJ to my fellow armed services members. That was the most exciting thing, as I look back on my 67 yrs., that I ever participated in. I called it the 'Disco 90' show. I was serving in the Army, at Pioneer Kesernne, in Hanau, W. Germany, 1975-1977. This once a week show, on weekends, brought the hit disco music from the states to my military compound, and for 4-5 hours, lifted the spirits of NCO military personnel, their dependants, and even the local German citizens, who were authorized to enter the Pioneer Kesernne Military Base. There are at least 2 elderly facilities, here in New Orleans, LA. where I have discussed this idea with the Directors, as a 'free' service, from a Veteran, to the residents of these care facilities. The common area, the cafeteria, or the outside seating areas, at these facilities, are readily available to host this music providing event.
Yes, special dedications will be provided, as my music catalogue comes from the extensive internet catalogues, and my album collection.
There will be NO CHARGE. This is my contribution to the elderly, as I may, inquire about tips to longevity n living as senior citizens, as I hope to also experience. I will be using Bluetooth for internet music catalogue, but will also break out my albums from my extensive album collection to be played on my turntable, this will make it more old school authentic and nostalgic.
