Rapid Bay Bush School
We’re thrilled to announce our latest initiative at Rapid Bay Primary School: the creation of a rain and sensory garden. This project aims to transform an under-utilised space into a vibrant, hands-on learning environment that will benefit our students and the wider community. The garden will feature native plants, sensory pathways, and a rainwater harvesting system, providing a therapeutic and engaging environment for all.
Our goal is to enhance education and well-being by promoting sustainability, environmental stewardship, and sensory development. In collaboration with the Fleurieu Environment Centre, we’ll leverage their expertise and resources to ensure the success of this project. This partnership will not only support our immediate goals but also help us realise our vision of expanding the garden into a bush tucker mini forest, integrating native plants and traditional knowledge into our curriculum.
We believe this project will offer students unique, hands-on opportunities to learn about sustainability and the environment, fostering a deeper connection to nature. With careful planning, community involvement, and a focus on sustainability, this garden will be a lasting legacy that enhances our educational offerings and community well-being. We can’t wait to see our students thrive in this enriched learning environment and are immensely grateful for the community’s support in making this vision a reality.
