We want to cultivate more DC youth changemakers! We aim to do this through an intensive social justice leadership bootcamp and youth led community project. The Awesome Foundation grant would cover $100 stipends for 7 youth and $300 to support a community project they dream up.

Young people have been at the heart of social justice movements throughout history. We know their leadership is more important than ever as we face the interconnected issues of poverty, violence, and inequality. It is time we invest in cultivating their leadership in movement leadership!

The program will include these aspects:
Intensive advocacy and community organizing training
Opportunities to learn from local activists
Analysis of community strengths and needs
Reflection on identity and liberation
Pathways and connections to creating change
Budget of $300 for the youth to develop and carry out a community project.
