Farming Equipment for Congolese Women in FM

At Baraza La Afrika, we have been granted the opportunity to host a community garden for our Congolese families in the Cass-Clay community for the past year. Each family that participates in the garden has a designated plot of land to use, maintain, and provide food for their families.

Our garden's participants primarily consist of Congolese youth and women. Our goal is to accommodate the immediate needs of our participants and our community at large to ensure that Congolese families continue to have culturally inclusive food in their homes.

Our immediate needs are the following:

*Proper gardening equipment. We want to ensure our participants have the appropriate equipment and education for all environmental conditions in our community garden.
*Agriculturally appropriate garments for our youth and women. This will ensure our participants are safe and protected in the garden and comfortable and happy.
*Transportation Accommodation—Baraza La Afrika provides transportation for Congolese families to ensure they can safely and surely make their way to and from the garden.

We need funding to support this initiative and ensure that the experience we provide to Congolese families within our community is as safe, fun, and inclusive as possible.
