A Muslim Party Game

The community of Muslim minorities in the United States often feels culturally invisible due to a lack of authentic representation in media and entertainment. Despite comprising a significant portion of the population, Muslims face barriers in finding products that authentically reflect their culture. With over 3 million Muslims in the U.S., the need for culturally relevant entertainment is evident.

In Pittsburgh, there are 11 mosques and about 3,000 Muslims. We come from a variety of backgrounds such as South Asian, Arab, African-American, African, Southeast Asian, and Caucasian. Still, we are a minority and face many barriers, including discrimination.

Through our innovative games, we strive to bridge cultural divides while fostering fun and camaraderie. Our first game, currently in development, is A Muslim Party Game. It is modeled after a tried-and-true party game that has many successful versions.

Most people want to know their Muslim neighbor. Most Muslims want a seat at the table with products that they can see themselves in. A game is such a no-stakes, fun way to build bridges in the local Pittsburgh community, bringing everyone to the table.
