I am the 8th grade special education teacher at Georgetown Middle School. I work with students in the general education classroom and in a separate setting. The students that I primarily work with typically have a specific learning disability, ADHD, Anxiety or some combination of all 3. As you can imagine, it is hard for them to sit for a period of time in the typical desk and chair classroom setting. When they come to my room, I would like to offer them flexible seating where they can feel more comfortable and confident and be able to learn in setting that suits their needs. I would like to purchase a variety of flexible seating for my classroom, such as standing desks, table and chairs that allow for sitting or standing, comfortable chairs or wiggle seats that allow students movement that they need in order to stay focused. There are a variety of options and I would like to provide my students with such variety.
