Adaptive Rock Climbing - A Community for Everyone

ParaCliffHangers is the largest paraclimbing network in the United States, serving as a national leader in adaptive climbing with over 23 chapters dedicated to empowering people with disabilities through accessible climbing lifestyle. Our project, "Adaptive Rock Climbing—A Community for Everyone," aims to further our commitment to inclusivity by providing all chapters with adaptive-specific gear, ensuring that our community is accessible to climbers of all abilities.

In 2025, we are focused on securing funding for essential adaptive equipment, specifically the Easy Seat harness and T-Bar Ascender. These adaptive climbing tools are crucial for supporting individuals with various severe mobility needs, making climbing accessible. Equipping each chapter at $800 per set represents a significant investment directly impacting our ability to provide a truly inclusive experience.

We aim to achieve 100% accessibility across all ParaCliffHangers chapters by the end of 2025. By funding this project, you are helping us ensure that everyone in our community can access the tools and support they need to climb.

What our grantee is saying: "Receiving this award from the Awesome Foundation is an incredible honor and a reflection of our shared commitment to inclusion, equity, and community. At ParaCliffHangers, our mission is to build an inclusive climbing community for people with disabilities, led by people with disabilities. This micro-grant will directly support that mission by funding adaptive climbing gear, which is essential for creating accessible spaces where paraclimbers can thrive. We're grateful for the recognition and support as we continue breaking barriers and fostering impact through climbing."
