Colorado Teen Retreat
Inward Bound Mindfulness Education (iBme) is a nonprofit that offers in-depth mindfulness programming for youth. Our main office is located in Concord, MA, but we host residential mindfulness retreats across the United States and in Canada. Our programming guides teens and young adults in developing self-awareness, compassion, and ethical decision-making, and empowers them to apply these skills in improving their lives and communities.
iBme is committed to caring for the natural world and addressing issues of social justice in all that we do. Our vision is to support future generations of heart-centered, diverse leaders who are prepared to respond to the challenges of our time with focus, resiliency, and compassion for themselves, their communities and the global environment.
The majority of iBme’s programs are residential teen retreats, and each weeklong retreat teaches proven awareness and concentration practices to youth ages 15-19. Through guided mindfulness meditation, small group discussions, and mindful movement, participants learn how to settle a busy mind, direct and sustain attention, investigate emotions and thoughts, cultivate compassion, and communicate with their peers.
This summer, we will host a Colorado Teen Retreat at The Blazing Mountain Retreat Center in Crestone from July 2-8. Blazing Mountain is a beautiful center in the spectacular Sangre de Christo Mountains - a beautiful backdrop among which we will introduce young people to mindfulness. Through guided meditation, mindful movement, small group discussions, and fun group activities, participants in our retreat will learn self-awareness, empathy, techniques to calm and focus the mind, and mindful communication – the foundations for success in all areas of life.
NOTE: We will also be submitting applications to The Awesome Foundation chapters in Boston, Northern Virginia, and the Twin Cities to support residential retreats in those regions.
