As an urban bicyclist, I am frequently stricken with flat tires and mechanical failures at times when bike shops are closed. Many bicyclists (myself included) have the know-how to fix their own bikes, but lack the access parts when they need them. I want to create the Bay Area’s first 24 hour bike repair depot. I want to take a vending machine and fill it with bicycle tubes, tires, tire levers, lights, and other assorted parts. I’ll decorate the outside with helpful bike repair information, such as how to change a tire, attach an air pump to the outside, and place it in a prominent, bike friendly location. With this, bikers will have an emergency repair option at any time of day or night.
