By Damian DePauw June 2018About Us
Newburgh is a proud, culturally-rich and resilient city. Awesome Newburgh seeks to promote the city's strengths and to catalyze more community projects that engage and bring us together.
Each month we give one $1,000 grant. We encourage a variety of project ideas but especially favor those that are open to the public and those that forge new collaborations or partnerships.
We evaluate projects for impact, benefit to public, ability to successfully execute, level of collaboration, and originality in idea.
Please note that we DO NOT fund travel, salaries, insurance, or living expenses.
Here are some tips for writing an Awesome Grant application:
· Be brief - have your friend review your application or attend a Library workshop.
· Be fun - remember, you want your application to stand out from the pack.
· Be specific - tell us how you are going to use the $1,000 and tell us your timeline for your project- show us that you've thought this project through.
The application deadline is always the first Monday of the month and we meet later that week to review the previous month's submissions.
VIDEO IS NEW OPTION FOR 2025- if you are interested in submitting a video, you will still need to submit an application with any photos and contact info. The link to your video can be included in the questions. For your video, bbe sure to answer all questions in order that they are stated.
If your project was not selected in a given month, reapply. We review applications from the current month's pool. But first, get in touch with us to get some feedback on your application.
Awesome Newburgh is a volunteer-run group. If you have questions about the application process, seek additional help, or want to get involved as a volunteer or trustee, email newburgh@awesomefoundation.org.
