Street Medics Austin provides free first aid training programs to underserved populations and those disproportionately affected by violence, empowering them to take life-saving action in emergency situations. This approach is needed because access to first aid training is often limited by socio-economic factors and targeted populations, such as people of color and members of the LGBT community, face a higher risk of violence.

SMA aims to make emergency first aid accessible to all members of our community by providing training and equipment to control traumatic bleeding injuries through the Stop the Bleed program. A grant from the Austin Awesome Foundation will fund emergency first aid kits for SMA’s upcoming trainings.
