Huggable Loveable Uterus

"Huggable, Loveable Uterus," is an initiative in the form of street performance. It is a project of both theatrical art and public education created towards a wider understanding of the mysteries of the uterus. Our stages will be open spaces where we can present to and engage the public in the streets, sidewalks, public parks, urban campuses.

The Huggable Loveable Uterus vision is to empower people with uteruses. We will take full ownership of our bodies and the physical anatomy central to reproductive rights by making it larger than life, visually present, and impossible to ignore. From a place of grounded strength, we will bring joy, laughter and rhythm to one of the most politically and emotionally intractable issues facing Americans today.

The engaging power of human-sized puppetry and costume, visual art apparatus, music and dancing will humanize and soften an extremely volatile issue, creating pathways to reach the public in ways we haven’t before. Our goal is to shake up and set ajar a cultural and political space that in most peoples' minds has been in position on one side or the other for many years.
