Having a successful launch, Drawing Detroit would like to take the blog to the next level. We would like to become the go-to site for Detroit data and discussion. In order to do that we would like to improve the skill-set of the Drawing Detroit staff. The current staff includes one part-time student, who is also a journalist, and contributions from Center staff, including GIS (mapping) analysts and masters and doctoral-level researchers. While a great deal of capacity exists within the staff, this grant would allow us to improve our site by allowing us to get graphic-design training for our staff, allowing us to improve the creativity and appearance of our graphics and thus our audience interest and engagement.
