MHCAN Artshow auction & tea

The Mental Health Client Action Network is the oldest and only peer-run organization in Santa Cruz County that provides services for those suffering with mental health and substance abuser disorders, Since a majority of our clients are homeless we provide a drop-in center four days a week from 9-2pm where they can access services such as-laundry, transportation, showers, mail, computer room, clothing donations, self-help peer run groups, and referrals to county resources. We would like to have an art show auction and tea which will serve as a way for our clients to showcase their artistic and creative talents and also provide a fundraising opportunity for our organization so that we can continue to provide the services that they depend on. The art show will have 15 participants (max) they will only be clients of MHCAN or staff and will be allowed to submit 2 works of art that will be displayed in the auction which we are aiming to have on June 21 2025, We were wanting to rent a room at London Nelson for 4 hours for 2 days. We are asking for this grant so that we're able to supply materials needed for the projects such as paints, canvases, brushes, collage materials and to help pay for room rental at the London Nelson center. The projects will be put on for an auction where a set price will be reached giving 10% of proceeds back to the artist and the rest to MHCAN's fundraising efforts.
