Students for Selma
The 8th grade students of Westbury Middle School will get the opportunity to view the movie Selma thanks to a generous donation from The Harnisch Foundation. This viewing will help support our 8th Grade Social Studies curriculum, where students are taught about the Civil Right Era and the many incredible events and people that helped to fight for equal rights in our country. Through this movie showing, students will get the opportunity to reflect on the events that transpired during the Selma to Montgomery March in 1965 and how they, as citizens, can be a force for peace, fairness, and justice.
