Colorgarden Grows
The Colorgarden project is installed at Downing Park Urban Farm, where the Newburgh Urban Farm & Food Initiative has a large garden. Both visitors and volunteers enjoy the 30 piece artwork and love how it functions as a landmark on Carpenter Ave.
My proposal is to cut, paint and install 20-30 additional wood shapes on the fence. I will invite children and other visitors to paint some of the shapes at the Newburgh Urban Farming Fair to be held there on April 30. I will install pieces during the fair, so community members can participate in the continuation of my project, and will be able to see it every time they visit the garden.
This artwork would show the community that artists are quietly here among us making work and thinking of ways to share it.
