Queer StoRIes Project (QSP) and the RI LGBTQ+ Community Archive at the Providence Public Library will partner with Project Weber/Renew’s (PWR) "Beyond the Understanding of Gender"—a trans of color support group—to offer an oral history training workshop series. The program will encompass oral history interviewing, recording, and transcription technology skills, preparing participants to lead their own interviews of trans of color Rhode Islanders, which will be added to the RI LGBTQ+ Community Archive. This will fill an existing hole in the historical record of Rhode Island from the perspective and with the priorities of those who lived this history.
