The RI Bird Guide aims to be a "functional, beautiful, and easy to understand guide that introduces birding to the local community, targeting a more diverse demographic." This will be a portable paperback book, 4.25 x 6.75 in size and roughly 225p in length, featuring illustrated birds that live or pass through RI. There's an online version, too. "Often, bird guides rely heavily on stiff scientific drawings, but this guide will feature illustrations that are more unique and lively, giving each bird a distinct personality, even while making sure they are relatively true to life." By observing bird behavior directly, the artist will create a contemporary interpretation in the age old tradition of birding and naturalist studies. The aim is to feature 75 - 100 birds that have been directly observed by the artist.
