Home Hangz is a weekly DJ practice session and community gathering providing space, equipment, free snacks, affordable meals, and artist resources to Detroit, Ann Arbor, and Ypsilanti DJs. The event is open to all skill levels and encourages first-time DJs to jump behind the decks! Free private sessions are offered by core team members, facilitating a space where beginners feel welcomed and voyeurs feel intrigued. We emphasize the Homie Hangz space as a judgment-free zone and have no tolerance for behaviors that do not support the evolution of our community.

The weekly practice session is free for DJs and aspiring DJs, with a small charge for any folks coming to hang out and watch. We partner with the Trumbullplex, allowing us to give people access to this event regardless of their ability to pay the door cover.

The structure of Homie Hangz facilitates an intergenerational creative space while putting DJs new to the game in the same room as seasoned DJs and local legends.

We continue our collaborations with DJs from Detroit, Ypsilanti, and Ann Arbor, allowing us to bridge the gap between local DJs while sharing knowledge and skills.
