We want more public art in South Bend, so we're going to create it.

Over the past two years West.SB stories have hit a nerve with people who believe that our city has a rich history and even richer future. We want to communicate this ethos on a larger scale with bold murals on old buildings.

We plan to paint two murals near downtown South Bend during Summer/Fall 2018. Our current locations are Hope Ministries on Lafayette, and Vested Interest, a burgeoning small business incubator on Sample Street.

Our first two murals will center around the concept 'Rebuild.' This concept will be paired with bold imagery and aim to capture the zeitgeist of a post-industrial city making a historic comeback.

We chose this concept 1) because it captures the current atmosphere in South Bend, and 2) because we believe that it communicates what South Bend is about to people around the country. To fully realize the potential of that second point, we will create a series of videos, photo essays, and written pieces communicating the mission behind our work as it progresses.
