February’s Awesome Ottawa award goes to Genevieve LeBlanc to support the Ottawa Air Guitar Championships.

Bringing together local wannabe rock stars “in the name of world peace,” explains Genevieve, “local competitions such as Ottawa’s name each city's top air guitar god.” The top talent then heads to Toronto for the National Championships and a chance to compete at the Air Guitar World Championships in Oulu, Finland.

2020 will be the 25th year of the Air Guitar World Championships, says Genevieve, “and we’re hoping that this is the year that Canada takes the title!”

The Ottawa Air Guitar Championships will be held at House of Targ on Saturday, May 2.

Genevieve is the 2017 Canadian National Air Guitar Champion – the first woman to hold the title – and the volunteer co-director of Air Guitar Canada.
