The Women’s Group is a support group for those who have experienced domestic violence.

This program differs from other domestic violence support programs as it is an ongoing group and the content is led by the women involved. There are currently no other groups like this in the southern area.

The group provides the opportunity for women who are socially isolated and have suffered from domestic violence to have a consistent safe place to come and make positive connections for themselves and their children.

The Awesome Foundation Grant will provide child care support for a period to allow attendees to speak openly, enabling the group to demonstrate to government or other funding providers that ongoing funding for a creche is essential to provide this service for women impacted by domestic violence in the south and surrounding areas.
