Last month I poured what was left of my emergency savings into opening Rise Above. Rise Above is a community supply hub that serves residents in the most disadvantaged areas of DC ( Wards 7/8 ) we provide emergency baby pampers/wipes/baby formula/toddler and baby clothes/hygiene kits to support our unhoused community living in tent encampments/household items/preloaded smart trip cards to support our recently hired folks/emergency hotel placements and direct advocacy for unhoused families.
