As a high school English teacher, I am currently working to update the sets of novels I use in my classroom. As a small district, we have suffered many cuts in both staff and funding. Teachers are only allotted $500 per year to purchase any classroom supplies or textbooks. My goal is to be able to provide students with more current fiction by contemporary authors from a variety of styles and topics.
